Roam If You Want To

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”  –St. Augustine

I’m a fan of traveling, whether it’s to Europe, to the Pacific, across your home state, or to the Exotic Foods Mart downtown.   Biking, driving, flying, walking — these are all acceptable forms of traveling, in my opinion.  Roller blade somewhere, if that suits you.  Ride a Segway, for all I care.  If you are so inclined, for only $59 you can actually pay to take a tour of Chicago on a Segway.

For my part, I wish the rail system in the United States was a little more reliable and up-to-date, but alas. It’s still getting use.  Recently the New York Times published an article about training across the United States.  It’s a worthwhile read:

Happy exploring!

That article was great- it made me really yearn to travel somewhere far away by train. We will be taking the Mappis kids on a train trip tomorrow, but only about an hour away, having lunch, and then returning home, so I’m not sure that qualifies. They should enjoy it, though. Miss you! XOXOXO
