Last night I officially joined Twitter. This morning I woke up feeling groggy, with a massive head ache, a sore throat, and stuffy nose.
I have Twitter flu. No, Twitter flu is not a variation of avian flu. I’m talking about the Twitter flu you get when you stay up past your bedtime configuring your blog, Twitter, and the various other social media sites of which you are a member.
Unfortunately I don’t think this illness qualifies me for a sick day from work. Bummer.
It seems that everyone has a trick for warding off illness. A girl from work swears that if you’re feeling under the weather, take three vitamin Cs and three echinacea capsules three times a day and you’ll be in tip-top shape the next morning. Last week a friend kept herself on a diet free of processed sugar and yeast, which apparently detoxes your body and leaves your immune system better equipped to fight off illness. I believe my diet of sugar, alcohol, and bread probably disqualifies me from participation in this particular program. Meanwhile my mother, usually opposed to the flu shot, is insisting that I get the H1N1 vaccine this year, especially since I work at an elementary school.
It all makes my head spin. I believe in hot tea, chicken soup, and TheraFlu. That’s my method.
So have yourself a cuppa, slap on some hand sanitizer, and follow me on Twitter. Right now I’m a baby making her first few wibbly-wobbly tweets, but I have a feeling I’m going to become addicted to the thing.
Phew.
This calls for lunch.
What is your trick for keeping colds and the flu at bay?

Hahah this is so cute. I did the same thing last week. I don’t really get Twitter at all!
My trick is to pretend I’m not even sick. I eat everything the same, keep the same activity level, and basically avoid any and all drugs. Even if it doesn’t cure the illness, it doesn’t matter cause nothings changed!
