Halloween Brunch
Saturday morning’s brunch certainly put me in the holiday spirit: I left the restaurant feeling (and looking?) like a pumpkin.
The four of us (the lady roommates and their respective boyfriends) went over to Cafe Madison for a laid-back Halloween brunch. I probably cannot say greater things about Cafe Madison.

It’s casual-chic inside, but the food is anything but casual. We started off with something I haven’t had in a long time: coffee!

And of course we toasted Halloween with mimosas.

The menu at Cafe Madison is high-end breakfast food, like our favorite: raspberry oatmeal pancakes served with real maple syrup. Today the Roommate ordered crepes with figs and black currant jam, served with a side of creme anglaise. I was in the mood for eggs, so I got the apple, spinach, and brie omelette with cinnamon swirl toast and home fries.
Hello, brunch! If you’re into standard breakfast fare, fear not — Cafe Madison has you covered. The boys got regular pancakes and eggs and bacon with home fries and toast.
If you live in Albany/are visiting, definitely do brunch at Cafe Madison. Just be prepared to wait — it can be long, but it’s well worth it.
Now I’m spending my afternoon at work, catching up on projects I missed while I had the flu this week. I’m jamming to the radio and occasionally “Monster Mash” or the Ghostbusters theme comes on. We always forget about the Halloween songs, don’t we? Gotta love holiday music. I know Sid loves the holidays:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am sad I did not spend this Halloween drinking rum and coke in your house and sitting in your recliner eating chocolate truffles and tapping everyone with my pitchfork. Ahh memories….
