Yesterday I bought 3 cans of pumpkin. That’s 87 ounces of canned pumpkin.
To avoid nosey questions from the Boyfriend about the necessity of $9 of canned pumpkin, I made him pumpkin pancakes. Can’t ask silly questions if your mouth is full of delicious pancakes, can you?
I also threw in some leftover ricotta I have from God-knows-what-recipe.
Warning: these pumpkins are VERY filling: Pumpkin Ricotta Pancakes

Didn’t stop the Boyfriend from devouring them in a quick and tidy manner:

To Plum Dandy’s, that is.

Yesterday I dragged the younger Page all the way to Saratoga for a visit.
Holy wow.

Plum Dandy’s is a completely do-it-yourself frozen yogurt bar. You pick from 8 daily flavors of fat-free tart yogurt, fill up your bowl as much as you please, then top with anything from blackberries to gummi bears to flax seeds to carob chips to hot fudge.

It was a big day.

Last night my mother cooked me an amazing birthday dinner in her backyard.

There were lots of fun decorations. And sombreros.
Jack zoomed around the backyard and investigated every bug and old baseball.
The Boyfriend played soccer with my little cousin.
My mother dropped the plate of hamburgers and hot dogs as they were about to go on the grill. We dusted them off and ate them anyway.
We had chicken and pasta salad and grilled CSA veggies and cake and white sangria.
Many fabulous presents were opened.
It was loud and and crazy and everybody ate too much.
It was perfect.
Thanks, family!
